When Keyana (Yanni) and I embarked on the journey of starting our podcast, Trust me, it wasn't a decision made in haste. It took a considerable amount of time to not only ponder what "the thing" would be but also to question if we had the courage to take the leap. You see, anyone can talk a big game, but the individuals I've come to respect the most in this world are the ones who face fear head-on and forge ahead despite it.
Yanni is one of those remarkable individuals. She doesn't require all her ducks neatly lined up before making a decision; she trusts her gut and intuition. Her boundless energy and unwavering determination, combined with my enthusiasm and hunger for something more, made us wonder, "What could possibly go wrong?" What's incredibly reassuring about her is that when she commits, she does so with every fiber of her being. How could anything go amiss with such a powerhouse by your side?
As we geared up to begin, nerves were running high, but we were determined to move forward regardless. Questions swirled in our minds, like "How do we go about posting a podcast?" "Will anyone actually listen?" "How will we find the time for this amidst our busy lives?" and countless more. We encountered weeks of technical hiccups, invested in laptops, streaming software, and editing tools, and meticulously prepared ourselves. Finally, we commenced recording, and one week turned into two, culminating in the birth of our very own podcast, Trust me. On April 4th, we were two elated women, on the verge of launching our inaugural podcast!
April 5th marked the big day when we did just that. The flood of comments, love, and feedback that followed was overwhelming and sent shivers down our spines. We felt an immense sense of pride because we had ventured into this endeavor without the reassurance that it would succeed—yet it did, with flying colors.
Our primary goal has always been to have fun. We want our conversations to resonate without feeling preachy, allowing people to see themselves within the dialogue. Remarkably, we not only found the time to create, but we eagerly look forward to it each week because it leaves us feeling invigorated. Our ultimate aim is for you to trust yourself a bit more after each conversation—we consider that our job well done.
We're on a mission to foster a community of women who uplift each other. Much of our success hinges on taking care of ourselves first, a lesson we're continually learning. We promise to be raw and vulnerable, unveiling sides of ourselves that most people don't include in their highlight reels. We believe this is crucial in leveling the playing field for all the amazing mamas out there, navigating life's intricate pieces while savoring every moment to the fullest.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for supporting us on this journey, and we can hardly wait to witness it unfold with you right by our side.
